Meet The Chef

Hi There!
I'm Katie, a Certified Natural Chef. And food is my life!

My food philosophy stems from the basic principles of
nourishing the body and maintaining overall wellness while creating joy in the process. I try to work with whole and SOUL (Seasonal, Organic, Unrefined, Local) food ingredients as much as possible, while drawing inspiration from cuisines from all around the world. I love cooking everything from complex dietary restrictive meals for individuals or families to farm-to-table dinner parties.
Connecting with people through food and educating about nutrition is what I'm most passionate about. As a person living with Multiple Sclerosis, nourishing my body through food is essential. My goal is to help others do the same. I know how depressing having to eat a certain way can be so I have made it my personal mission to create the most delicious, healing foods that are also easy to recreate at home.

I received my certification from Bauman College in Berkeley, CA, and I’ve worked in many areas of the food industry since. I've cooked for a drop-in center for homeless women and children, been a baker for a gluten-free bread company, ran a lunch service at a farm-to-table cafe, done celebrity chef demos, meal delivery, catering, dinner parties, etc.
And though I have loved it all, there will always be a soft spot in my heart for the many years I spent as a Core Cook at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, CA. I was able to further my own meditation practice while getting to work with many talented cooks. We had access to amazing produce from local farms and collaboratively came up with incredibly nourishing, nutritious and eclectic menus for the retreatants. It will forever be an unforgettable and life changing experience for me as a chef.
I am currently a personal chef and wellness advocate. After almost a decade living in the Bay, I have recently returned to my roots in the Chicagoland Area. My current focus is to take all that I've learned and bring those principles to individuals and communities in this area who are looking to live a healthier life.
Think we might be a good culinary match? Or struggling to maintain a healthy diet and just not sure where to start? Reach out with any questions and a little information about yourself and we can go from there. Warmly,

Nourishing The SOUL
One Table At A Time
Mission
To promote wellness and create healthy,
nourishing and delicious food for people of all walks of life.
Chef Katie cooked for our family for over a year. During that time she worked with us to change our diet from a traditional American diet of processed foods, starches, dairy and sugar, to a healthy and healing anti-inflammatory diet. With children any food change is hard, so Katie slowly replaced some of our favorite ingredients for healthier ones. She continued to cook our favorite comfort meals but without the gluten and dairy, and she started to incorporate more vegetables and filling grains like quinoa. Then she transitioned us to new foods like stuffed peppers and paella. Our children loved trying her new foods which were full of flavor and simply delicious.
Over the year with Katie our family's health was transformed. Our achy joints stopped hurting, our energy levels went up and we lost weight. Katie's nutritional knowledge was so important to our family as we made this journey. We gave her our complete trust with our diet and she succeeded in healing us through food. Without a doubt she has forever shaped how our family will eat.
